Mexican soccer has once again dominated the Concacaf Champions League. However, Gerardo Martino criticized that successful clubs like the Águilas del América lift trophies, but contribute little to the Mexican team. André Jardine responded to these questions.

Gerardo Martino is the former Mexico coach. “Tata” is a voice capable of speaking about the present of Aztec football. However, on this point related to Club América, André Jardine does not agree with Martino’s analysis.

“Tata’s statement surprised me because today we have Malagón, Israel, Kevin, Néstor, Jonathan, Quiñones, Henry… practically all the players here are in their national team or have a chance to go, so Doesn’t seem like a fair criticism to me at this point.“Jardine said in an interview with TUDN.

What did Tata say?

After the series between Inter Miami and Rayados de Monterrey, the phrase that was highlighted by the Mexican media was the dart that Martino threw at Club América. Gerardo Martino questions the lack of opportunity that Mexican players have in their clubs, but He pointed out the Águilas, current Liga MX champions.

“It doesn’t matter, this is not the case with Rayados because he has a lot of contribution to the national team; But how much does it matter for the national team that America becomes champion of this tournament and the contribution to the team is not that important because the most notorious figures are generally foreigners,” Martino said at a press conference.

“WHAT IS THE USE OF AMERICA BEING CHAMPION OF THIS TOURNAMENT, IF THEY DO NOT CONTRIBUTE TO THE NATIONAL TEAM”

Gerardo Martino went to a press conference and gave a message to América and the entire Liga Mx for having more foreigners.

He dropped a bombshell!

Despite not agreeing with Gerardo Martino’s analysis, André Jardine did find a middle ground in “Tata’s” statements. The Brazilian strategist believes that important clubs must have a balanced combination between foreign players and high-level players eligible for the national team.

“The big clubs must also have the aspiration of play with foreign and Mexican national team players who have the level to be there (in national teams)“he added.
