Who is Christopher Gregor, father of the boy who died after being forced to do extreme exercise?

Christopher Gregor, the New Jersey father accused of killing his 6-year-old son, Corey Micciolo, by forcing him to run on a treadmill at high speeds, He is allegedly the son of a former state police officer in the state.

A 2022 Jersey Shore Online article about the ongoing criminal case describes David Gregor, 64, a “highly decorated” police officer who retired as a lieutenant before 2013.

David Gregor later served as coordinator of the Middlesex County Comprehensive Highway Safety Program. It is unclear if he still works for the New Jersey county.

Gregor, 31, is a former high school football star and youth mentor who met her young son Corey for the first time just a year before she allegedly abused him to death.

The man attended Monroe Township High School, where he was an honor student and defensive lineman for the 2009 Group III state championship football team.

That same year, he was even selected to be part of the district’s “Heroes and Cool Kids” mentoring program for high school students, reserved for high school students “considered positive role models by their administrators,” the Home News Tribune reported in 2010.

His LinkedIn lists his most recent job as real estate agent at Red Door Real Estate in New Jerseywhere he has supposedly worked since February 2018, according to the New York Post.

Over the years, Gregor has had other run-ins with the law in several statesincluding Connecticut and Maryland, where he racked up more than a half-dozen criminal charges between August 2017 and April 2018, including assault, theft and destruction of property, public records show.

Gregor is currently on trial for Corey’s murder on April 2, 2021. Surveillance footage from the gym at a Middletown, New Jersey, country club shows the man putting Corey through extreme training because he thought the young man was overweight. .

He put the child on the treadmill and quickly increased the speed and incline until the child flew away, according to the footage.

Gregor is also seen picking up the boy and putting him back in the speed belt, while apparently biting Corey’s head. However, the boy fell another half-dozen times, desperately struggling to keep up until his father finally slowed down, the video shows.

Two weeks later, Corey was taken to the hospital, where he died from his blunt injuries, including bruises to his liver and heart.

In September 2021, A forensic pathologist determined that Corey’s death was a homicide, as he suffered from chronic abuse. which included blunt impact injuries to the chest and abdomen with a heart laceration, left lung contusion, and liver laceration and contusion.

Gregor had custody of Corey at the time he suffered the life-ending injuries, making him responsible for the boy’s death, the prosecutor’s office said.

The man rejected a plea offer of 30 years and faces life in prison if convicted. He is being held without bond at the Ocean County Jail.
