Emergency! Plane with mechanical failure lands on Freeway 5 in San Diego

A plane had to make an emergency landing at noon this Tuesday on Freeway 5 , near the Del Mar fairgrounds.

The pilot touched down on the south side of the Interstate, south of the la Via de la Valle, reported the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The two occupants of the aircraft were not injured and no other injuries were reported from this incident.

The causes of the mechanical failure of the plane for which it had to descend on the Freeway 5 are unknown. Officers closed the south side of the highway.

After landing in the southbound lanes, it ended up partially supported by the central retaining wall. The aircraft had damage to the right wing .

Images transmitted from the news helicopters showed that a car had allegedly suffered some damage.

While the southbound lanes remained closed due to the landing of the plane, northbound traffic advanced slowly but with a reduction of lanes in the area where the aircraft was located.
