Mexican authorities find a drug tunnel on the border between Arizona and Sonora

Authorities have not reported the arrest of any suspects or the seizure of drugs following the discovery of this clandestine passage.

Next to the site of the discovery, the officers found various tools used for excavation, among them: shovels, bars, buckets, which were covered with wooden leaves and weeds typical of the region.

Reports from Mexican authorities record that since 1990, when the first narcotunnel was officially discovered, to date, security and migration agencies have found more than 230 clandestine passages, the vast majority in the state of Sonora in the region of Nogales, which borders Arizona (USA).
