With the aim of improving public health, President Joe Biden will allocate $3 billion to replace lead pipes, considering them harmful.

During a campaign event held in North Carolina, The 81-year-old Democrat referred to the enormous damage that lead causes to human beings and because of this he chose to solve a problem that had not been solved for years.

“These lead lines are strong, durable and do not rust, but we have long known that they leach poisonous toxins into our water. The science is clear.

Lead service lines pose serious health risks and damage the brain and kidneys. Especially in children, they hinder growth, slow learning and cause lasting brain damage, but we know we can stop it. We know how to do it,” he said in front of dozens of supporters.

This way, Funding to replace the pipelines was allocated based on the number that exist in each state.

The state of Illinois was required to receive $240 million dollars to begin work.

This amount represents the largest contribution of the $3 billion dollars with which the project starts.

Through a statement released by The Biden administration announced that “lead exposure is largely present in African American communities.” “mostly made up of low-income families.”

So we will start by trying to get them to access the benefit of having less harmful pipes.

In this sense, Joe Biden’s initiative may even end up benefiting his campaign, as some polls indicate that the African American vote is leaning in favor of Donald Trump because their representatives feel that the current government has not responded to their needs.
