The FIFA authorities do not beat around the bush and for that reason they did not tempt their hearts to veto the Rayados del Monterrey in the next three periods of the transfer market, as a result of some irregularities they had with the Argentine team Estudiantes de La Plata, in the signing of midfielder Jorge “Corcho” Rodríguez.

In this way, the Monterrey team will not be able to sell, transfer or hire any player for at least a year and a half, taking into account that short tournaments are popular in Mexican soccer, which will prevent the Rayados to participate in the next three transfer periods which includes between the end of the Clausura 2024 tournament and the start of Apertura 2024, nor between the end of Apertura 2024 and start of Clausura 2025 and much less between the end of Clausura 2025 and start of Apertura 2026.

That is, Monterrey could hire reinforcements until Clausura 2026, as long as they cannot present evidence that dismisses the claims of the Estudiantes de La Plata team, which went to FIFA when they saw that their interests were affected. due to late payments and irregularities in the payments that the Mexican team had to make for the signing of “Corcho” Rodríguez.

The La Plata team integrated a file where it demonstrated that the payment methods were never covered by Monterrey and other payments arrived full of irregularities, without Monterrey paying attention to the amounts that generated interest due to an incorrect payment.

The members of the Argentine team’s board considered that the capacity and economic level of Monterrey made them act in an advantageous way when it came to covering Rodríguez’s transfer, which is why he included them in a list of 26 teams that have been sanctioned for the same reason and where they are also included, among other teams, the Bravos of FC Juárez .

Obviously, the decision of the highest governing body of international football has outraged Monterrey which they consider to be an abuse of their rights as members, especially because they consider that there is sufficient evidence to demonstrate that the Estudiantes de La Plata board was not transparent in their demands and in the amounts of the player’s transfer.

This matter will be turned over to the FIFA legal department so that the evidence of each of the two parties can be presented. and the decision is made in accordance with the rule of law that each of the teams affiliated with FIFA has through their respective Federations and Associations.
