The experienced Víctor Manuel Vucetich would be back in Liga MX in case his incorporation to the Cañoneros de Mazatlán is completed, after a brief break of two tournaments when he led the Rayados de Monterrey in the Clausura 2023 tournament where he lost in the semifinals with the Tigres de la UANL.
The incorporation of the Cañoneros would try to solve the big problems that the Mazatlan team has, especially in the last championship, where they finished in 14th position in the general table with only 16 points, which is why the squad owned by businessman Ricardo Salinas Pliego, who seeks a complete restructuring of the organization of the state of Sinaloa.
Without a doubt, the arrival of Vucetich would be a point in favor of the Cañoneros squad, especially due to his experience in various projects such as León, Tecos, UAG, Tigres, Cruz Azul, La Piedad, Puebla, Pachuca, Veracruz, Jaguares, Monterrey, Querétaro and Chivaswhere he has obtained five titles.
A point in favor is that an old acquaintance of his, such as Gilberto Adame, who after assuming the responsibilities of technical assistant, took the reins of the team in the place left by the Spanish Ismael Rescalvo. This situation would accelerate the arrival of Vucetich, a coach with a reserved style, but that he has obtained important achievements beyond the forms that could be claimed of him.
Vucetich has not been active as technical director since Clausura 2023 and his last team was Monterrey with whom he won 14 games in that tournament, then he was replaced by Fernando Ortiz starting with Apertura 2023, so the Mexican strategist would return to the fields.
Without a doubt, the incorporation of Vucetich would be an important bet for the objectives that the businessman has set. Ricardo Salinas Pliego, owner of the television station TV Aztecawhich since its appearance in Liga MX has not been able to make headway in the competition and requires desperate measures to achieve important achievements.
