In Mexican soccer a cycle seems to be closing with important Aztec players. A few days ago the retirement of Oribe Peralta; Marco Fabián is looking for a team at all costs; Giovanni dos Santos has not played for months and now these concerns seem to have reached Carlos “Gullit” Peña. The Antigua GFC of Guatemala does not want the Aztec anymore.

Manuel Urenda, agent of the Mexican soccer player, revealed that the board of directors of the Guatemalan team made the decision to terminate the player’s contract

. “Gullit” still had six more months left, but the Old GFC did not want to retain him.

He took it with great surprise ( Carlos Peña), it was a bucket of cold water because a good tournament was held and everything was very good. It was something I didn’t expect, but this is football and these types of situations are not unrelated, these are things that happen every day in football ”, recognized Urenda in an interview for ESPN.

DID NOT WANT IT RENEW😥

They gave Gullit Peña “Thanks” at Antigua FC, despite his good performances they did not want to renew the contract because it does not come into plans for the new “System of game” of the team.👀

Why don’t they love Carlos Peña?

Manuel Urenda revealed what the reasons were for the club board to end the relationship with the Mexican soccer player. The agent explained that “Gullit” was not part of the team’s restructuring plans. The change in mentality involved the departure of some players and Carlos Peña was on that list.

“He sent us, through his sports president, a contract termination document (…) Simply what they want is to change a game system and idea, that’s why they have to get rid of several players. We ended on good terms. They decide to end the contract and we wish them well and that they get things ”, he explained.

The future of the “Gullit”

Carlos Peña only has 31 years of age and has shown that still has conditions for the practice of professional football. The Mexican wanted to continue at Antigua GFC, which is why he would have rejected some offers. However, now he will have to wait for those clubs that showed interest in him to determine his path.

We are working, waiting for offers. What he wanted was to stay in Antigua, that was his plan, it was what he wanted. Then we had rejected offers. Now we are open to new proposals and waiting for something to come out that is attractive to him. We had not accepted because the ‘Gullit’ wanted to stay there were many ”, he concluded.
