In the midst of the fight that the Mexican authorities maintain against organized crime, they managed to strike an important blow with the seizure of 320,000 fentanyl pills.

Regarding this fact, the Attorney General’s Office reported, through a press release, that the drugs were stored in a parcel company in the state of Jalisco.

Likewise, it was announced that the seizure of this shipment of fentanyl, whose value on the streets of the United States is millions of dollars, was carried out after the Criminal Investigation Agency received an anonymous complaint about a possible drug shipment.

This is how an operation was implemented by state and federal authorities. After obtaining a judicial permit, the agents went to the company located in the municipality of El Salto and, with the help of a trained dog, discovered the shipment in the indicated packages.

At the moment, the Prosecutor’s Office did not provide details of the parcel company involved, nor of the criminal group that would be responsible for the drugs, although the region where the seizure was achieved is controlled by the Jalisco New Generation Cartel.

A similar case in Sinaloa

In February of this year, a similar seizure occurred in Culiacán, Sinaloa, when authorities found 190,000 fentanyl pills in another parcel company.

As happened in Jalisco, this blow to organized crime occurred thanks to an anonymous call that allowed the location of the drugs.

All this occurs while pressure from the United States on Mexico to combat drug trafficking, particularly fentanyl, grows.

For its part, the Mexican Navy stated a few days ago that since the Government of Mexico began Andrés Manuel López ObradorIn December 2018, the Armed Forces confiscated 8,222 kilograms of fentanyl.
