President Joe Biden is on his first overseas trip this week and is visiting the UK, where he joined Prime Minister Boris Johnson ahead of the G-7 summit in Carbis Bay.

For Biden , that meant going to a North Philly bike shop for a custom touring bike and a helmet made for Johnson , an avid cyclist.

The small Philadelphia workshop handcrafted the bicycle that Joe Biden bought for his British peer Boris Johnson.

Philly Bike Expo shared a post about the gift, which was made at Bilenky Cycle Works in Olney.

The store at 5319 N. Second St. is run by Stephen Bilenky, whose handcrafted bikes range from road bikes and touring bikes to tandem bikes, cargo bikes, and commuter bikes.

Bilenky, a native of Philadelphia, began professionally manufacturing bicycle frames in 1200. He began working with Jim Gittens, an English bicycle builder from Birmingham.

For Johnson, Biden ordered a Sterling Metro 5 bicycle, the original model that Bilenky developed to launch his career in bicycle construction. The store shared photos of the bike on Facebook, showing its blue frame with design elements of the American and British flags. The helmet Johnson received displays the flags of the two nations with their crossed wands.

The bike was manufactured with a budget of $ 6, 000 dollars in less than two weeks, reported The Inquirer .

In exchange for the bike, Johnson gave Biden a framed photo of a British mural depicting abolitionist Frederick Douglass .
