Almost six and a half years later, Murder charges filed in the shooting death of a 31-year-old Hispanic woman in Riverside Countythe authorities announced.
In a statement, the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department said that Daniel Acevedo, a man from the town of San Jacinto, was accused of killing Anna Meza in an incident that occurred around 3:00 pm on November 12, 2017.
On that date, agents responded to reports that a woman had been shot in the area of the 100 block of North Dillon Avenue.

When they arrived at the scene, officers found Meza, also a resident of San Jacinto, who was lying in the street.
Paramedic teams also went to the scene where the victim was and tried all available resources to save his life, but the Hispanic woman succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead moments later..

The first investigations were carried out by San Jacinto Police Department officers and the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department’s Central Homicide Unit.
Authorities did not mention any suspects. could be responsible for Meza’s death.
After a lengthy investigation, authorities reported that They identified Acevedo, 27, as the suspect in committing the crime.

Acevedo was arrested on April 12, 2024 during a traffic stop in San Jacinto, which was conducted by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department Major Crimes Unit, the release said.
So far, authorities have not provided information related to the possible motive for the murder or if Acevedo and Meza knew each other before the incident occurred.

After reviewing the case, the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office filed murder charges against the 27-year-old on April 15.
