More than 100 people are arrested in anti-drug operation carried out in Southern California

More than 100 people were arrested as a result of an anti-drug operation carried out in Southern California.

The raid, called Operation Street Sweeper against drugs, targeted the Magnolia Avenue corridor.between Van Buren Boulevard and Pierce Street, in the city of Riverside, according to the Riverside Police Department.

The action carried out for several days by the Riverside authorities arose before the “increase in criminal activity and complaints from community members and businesses,” authorities said.

Over a period of three weeks, 46 people were observed purchasing a variety of illegal narcoticswhich included methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, PCP and psilocybin mushrooms.

In an operation carried out in three days, 44 drug traffickers were identified, of which 33 of them were arrested for crimes related to the sale of narcotics.

Thanks to the collaboration of nearby agencies, An additional 71 suspects were also placed under arrest on multiple charges..

32 arrests were made for minor crimes related to home invasionpublic intoxication, possession of drug paraphernalia and unlawful possession of controlled substances.

They were executed 21 Misdemeanor Warrants Outstanding for Shopliftingpetit theft, burglary, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of drug paraphernalia, unlawful possession of controlled substances and being under the influence of a controlled substance.

15 arrests were made for violation of paroleprobation, and post-release community supervision.

There were 3 arrest warrants for serious crimes pending3 parole searches were made at local motel rooms and 2 search warrants were served at local residences.

The authorities said that, In total, 104 people were arrested during the large-scale raid in Riverside.

Most of those arrested said they were homeless. or who live in several motels along Magnolia Avenue, officers said.

During a parole search of a motel room, authorities discovered a woman who was wanted for a serious accident crime for driving while intoxicated in 2022 in which two women and a 4-year-old child were seriously injured.

Inside your motel room too a man was found with an outstanding warrant for robbery. Police discovered that the subject was also in possession of stolen merchandise worth several thousand dollars.

Since arrests, medical assistance and police calls for incidents along the Magnolia Avenue corridor were made decreased immediately and significantlyauthorities said.

“This was not a one-time operation and our law enforcement efforts will continue until the Members of our community, businesses and visitors feel a constant sense of security in Riverside“stated the Chief of the Riverside Police Department, Larry V. González.
