The DEA deals a hard blow to the Sinaloa Cartel by dismantling an important network that operated in California

As part of the fight against drug trafficking carried out by the United States government, the operation was announced “Hotline Bling”headed by the DEA’s Los Angeles Field Division.

This investigation, which began in early 2023, focused on a network of the Sinaloa Cartel with operations in California, and culminated in the arrest of 15 people, as well as large drug seizures.

According to the anti-drug agency, 170.5 kilograms of methamphetamine, 16.9 kilograms of fentanyl, 600,000 fentanyl tablets and 1.4 kilograms of cocaine were seized, the approximate value of which is 16 million dollars.

An officer involved

In addition to the drugs seized, seven firearms were seized and the involvement of a corrupt Riverside County corrections officer was discovered, although his identity was not released.

The DEA and local police provided information to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, contributing to the arrest of officer in possession of 47.1 kilograms of fentanyl pills.

Authorities estimate that this investigation “prevented the distribution of more than 10 million potentially lethal doses of fentanyl within the Inland Empire and throughout the United States.”

The investigation was conducted by multiple agencies, including the DEA Riverside District Office, the Riverside Police Department, and the US Postal Inspection Service, with support from other DEA units. Nacional level.
