In order to benefit low-income households in the Fresno and Huron communities, a guaranteed income program called Advancing Fresno County is offering a stimulus check of up to $500 for one year.

This financial aid is specifically aimed at about 150 families with dependents under 5 years of age, the application season began on March 15 of this year and will close next Wednesday, May 15, 2024.

Therefore, families that have not yet applied still have the opportunity to do so. According to the statement, in order to participate, applicants must have a series of essential requirements:

  • They must have a residential address in the zip codes of 93706 (southwest Fresno) or 93234 (Huron).
  • They must be adults who are pregnant or have one or more small children between 0 and 5 years old.
  • Have an income limit of $30,615 or less annually for 93,706 (southwest Fresno) or $35,103 or less for 93,234 (Huron). Eligible income levels are based on the low-income percentage (80%) of the Area Median Income (AMI) for each ZIP code.

The selection will be made at random so that participation is fair.

Where to apply for the stimulus check?

Requests can be made by filling out an online form or by going directly to the offices in the different locations:

  • In Southwest Fresno (93706) the address is the Fresno EOC Local Conservation Corps (LCC) at the Neighborhood Youth Center: 1805 E. California Ave. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 pm.
  • In Huron (93234) the address is the Huron Family Learning Center: 36602 Central Ave. Hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. .
