Taylor Swift reached one billion streams on Spotify with her new album

Taylor Swift continues to break records with her new album. After its launch, The Tortured Poets Department became the first album to reach 1 billion streams on Spotify in a week.

This week, the new album Taylor set the record for becoming the most played album on the audio platform in its first week of release..

This record is added to the one achieved last Friday, when it was launched, when The Tortured Poets Department became Spotify’s most streamed album in a single day with 300 million streams.

With that achievement, the singer surpassed her own record, which she had previously set with Midnights and 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

In addition, On Friday, the song “Fortnight,” featuring Post Malone, became the most streamed song on Spotify in a single day.

Even before the release of the Taylor Swift album too broke the record for the most pre-saved album in Spotify history within hours of its release.

Last Friday, Taylor released The Tortured Poets Department, eleventh album of his career that is shaped by 31 songs, 15 more than expected.

First the singer released the first 16 songs, many inspired by her relationship with actor Joe Alwyn. A few hours after the topics were published, The singer surprised by announcing that it is a double album. At that time she released 15 additional songs.

“Surprise at two in the morning: The Tortured Poets Department It’s a secret double album. I had written a lot of tortured poetry over the last two years and I wanted to share it all with you, so here is the second installment of TTPD: The Anthology. 15 additional songs. And now the story is no longer mine… it is all yours,” the singer wrote on her social networks.

In February, during the Grammy ceremony, Taylor Swift announced the release of her new album: The Tortured Poets Department.

After taking the gramophone for Best Pop Vocal Album for Midnights, the 34-year-old singer surprised everyone when announcing the launch of his new album through his social networks.

“Everything is fair in love and poetry… New album THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. Out April 19,” Swift wrote in the Instagam post to announce her new album.

The announcement of The Tortured Poets Department, to be published April 19came after the singer changed her profile photo on Instagram for a black and white one similar to the one in the announcement of the release of the new album.

Taylor Swift is currently on a brief hiatus from her The Eras Tour before beginning the European leg of the tour in May through France, Sweden, Portugal, Spain, the United Kingdom, Ireland, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Italy, Germany, Poland and Austria and then return to the United States and finish in Canada.
