Marine killed during routine military operation at Camp Pendleton

The United States Marine Corps reported that A U.S. Marine was killed Tuesday afternoon during a routine military operation at California’s Camp Pendleton Air Base.

Through a press release cited by Fox News, the USMC said that the officer died around 5:00 pm local time on Tuesday inside the base located in San Diego.

The identity of the marine was not released until the family was notified.nor the cause of death.

The Marine Corps was stationed with Marine Light Attack Helicopter Training Squadron 303, Marine Aircraft Group 39, which is part of the 3rd Marine Aircraft Wing based at Camp Pendleton.

The authorities said that the incident is being investigated and no further details were given about what happened.

This incident at Camp Pendleton Air Base occurs just a week after the death of Sergeant Colin Arslanbas, 23, who died during a training accident at Camp Lejeune, North Carolina.

According to a news release from Camp Lejeune officials, Arslanbas died during a training accident on April 18.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 11 p.m. near Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune in Carteret County.
