Although Jennifer Aniston gave Instagram a chance, she is not planning to do the same with TikTok. The 55-year-old actress assured that she will never have an account on the Chinese social network.
In an interview with Entertainment TonightAniston revealed the reason why he will never open a TikTok account.
“I don’t have TikTok, nor will I ever have one. I simply won’t have it,” the actress said bluntly. “I won’t subscribe to anything else that’s going to ruin my life or someone else’s,” she added jokingly.
Aniston confessed that she enjoys social networks, but tries to set limits because there are things you don’t want to expose yourself to. “Sometimes I can’t believe when I find myself in an absolute wormhole of dogs, puppy videos, rescue animals, babies and cats. Those are the things I enjoy. But then there are some things online that I just don’t want to see,” she assured.
“I don’t think we are designed to receive the amount of information at the speed and pace that we do today. I just don’t think it’s good for us. I don’t think it’s healthy,” she added.
The actress expressed her concern about the damage that social networks can cause to children and adolescents. “The mental illness that children suffer from because of comparison and despair,” she said.
“It is very difficult to be a teenager nowadays. We are very hard on ourselves and the children are also very mean,” she added.
Jennifer Aniston said that she tries to be as real as possible on social networks. “I think it’s better to be who you are,” he said. “We have good days. We have bad days. We have good hair days. We have shitty hair days. We have days with good skin, days with bad skin. It’s a mix. It is also very unrealistic to try to sell something that does not look authentic,” she assured.
In October 2019, Aniston surprised by opening an Instagram account. The actress’s first publication was a photo of her former classmates. FriendsMatthew Perry, Courteney Cox, Matt LeBlanc, David Schwimmer and Lisa Kudrow, which garnered more than a million likes.
At that time, Aniston gained more than 150,000 followers in less than an hour.
