Donald Trump’s 2024 election campaign and the Republican National Committee have pledged to deploy 100,000 volunteers and lawyers to monitor vote counting in battleground states this year, according to The Hill.

The announcement is part of what officials describe as an increased focus on “election integrity” by the Republican Party, to prevent voter fraud.

Officials describe the program, detailed in a press release on Friday and first reported by Politico, as the “most extensive and monumental election integrity program in the nation’s history,” and the announcement underscores the extent to which the approach of former President Donald Trump in his baseless accusations of voter fraud in the 2020 election, is shaping the party’s agenda in the 2024 elections.

As the party’s presumptive presidential candidate, Trump now controls the Republican National Committee and recently named a new president, Michael Whatley, and his daughter-in-law Lara Trump as party co-chair.

“Having the right people to count the ballots is just as important as getting voters on Election Day,” Trump said in a statement. “Republicans are now working together to protect the vote and secure a big victory on November 5th!”

The campaign and the RNC said they plan focus on ensuring integrity around early voting, Election Day voting, mail-in ballot processing, post-election audits and recounts, and machine testing.

Additionally, each disputed state will operate an individual hotline so that election observers report on potential problems.

“President Trump has said that the Republican victory in November must be too big to manipulate,” said Republican National Committee general counsel Charlie Spies. it’s a statement. “The political team will work to ensure a major victory for Republicans at every level, and the Republican National Committee Legal Department is committed to ensuring that victory cannot be manipulated.”

The Trump campaign and the RNC have invested heavily in election integrity efforts as Trump continues to warn of the threat of Democrats rigging the election against him, even though there is no evidence of widespread voter fraud in 2020.

Numerous lawsuits the Trump campaign filed in connection with the 2020 election were dismissed by judgesincluding those appointed by Republican presidents.

Trump faces criminal charges in courts in Georgia and Washington, DC, for his attempts to subvert the election results of the 2020 election that caused hundreds of his supporters to storm the US Capitol on January 6, 2021.
