Walker Buehler is back in the Major Leagues after almost two years. Dave Roberts announced that he will pitch next Monday against the Miami Marlins.

Buehler has had to wait almost two years for his return to the Majors. He made his last start on June 10, 2022 and then had to undergo Tommy John surgery.

The 29-year-old right-hander has undergone two Tommy John surgeries in his career.. The first after being drafted by the Dodgers during his university years and the second in 2022.

Walker Buehler has a 46-16 record with a 3.02 ERA and 690 strikeouts. in 115 career appearances with the Dodgers.

Buehler has been selected to the All-Star Game twice and was part of the team that won the World Series in 2020 against Tampa Bay.

This addition will strengthen the Dodgers’ rotation for the second month of the campaign.

The Dodgers could have a rotation with:

Tyler Glasnow

Yoshinobu Yamamoto

Walker Buehler

Gavin Stone

James Paxton.

The Dodgers have a 3.48 ERA among their starters, the eighth best in the Major Leagues. He also has the eighth most strikeouts and the sixth fewest home runs allowed.

How old were you the last time Walker Buehler pitched for the Dodgers?

Walker Buehler did not rush his return to the Major Leagues. The Dodgers considered leaving it for 2024 after possible rumors of his arrival in 2023.

The right-hander took a little longer in the Minor Leagues after suffering a hit to his pitching hand, but without major repercussions.

During his time in the Minor Leagues, Buehler posted a 4.15 ERA with 21 strikeouts and nine walks in 21.2 innings.

In his last outing, the right-hander is coming off one of his best performances.

He pitched five innings of one run for Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday. Buehler struck out five and he did not walk any.

He increased his pitch count to 75, so he should be able to immediately handle anything that comes close. to the standard workload of a starter.
