Suspect shot to death in violent home invasion in Newport Beach

With one suspect dead and one more injured it ended a violent home invasion that the owner of a residence responded with gunshots and that occurred early this Tuesday in Newport Beach.

The incident occurred at approximately 4:45 a.m. at a home located in an alley near Newport Coast Drive and Pelican Hill Road North.

According to Newport Beach Police Departmenta man, two women and a child of unknown age were in the house at the time the two suspects broke into the property.

According to investigators, the two suspects entered the property through a side door and They were confronted by the owner, who shot them with a rifle.

By the time the officers arrived, They found one of the armed suspects lying in the street with several gunshot wounds.. He was taken to a hospital and authorities believe he may survive his injuries.
