The parents of Noah Cuatro, a 4-year-old boy who was tortured and murdered in July 2019, They were sentenced this Tuesday to sentences of up to life imprisonment.
José María Cuatro Jr. was sentenced to 32 years to life in prison, and Úrsula Elaine Juárez to 22 years to life in prison.by Superior Court Judge Robert G. Chu, for the death of Noah Cuatro, a death that was initially reported as drowning.
Cuatro Jr., 32 years old, pleaded not guilty on March 29 to a charge of first-degree murder and another of torture; while Juárez pleaded not guilty to one count of second-degree murder and another of torture.
Cuatro Jr. and Juárez they waived their appeal rights in his plea agreement.

Judge Chu said that Noah’s death represented a “devastating loss” and he wanted to make it clear to the family that he saw his love for the little boy and trusted that the child would never be forgotten.

“The horrible treatment this little boy suffered at the hands of his parents disgusted me. In my opinion, the sentences of life sentence without the possibility of parole would have been more appropriatebut I respect the judicial and sentencing process,” said Supervisor Barger.
“I hope that today, the sentence will help his surviving brothers, his grandmother and his relatives.” to heal and find some peace. “The memory of little Noah will be in my heart and mind forever,” Barger added.

Around 4:00 pm on July 5, 2019authorities were called after Cuatro Jr. and Juárez reported Noah drowning in his family’s pool in the 1200 block of East Avenue S.
Noah was taken first to Palmdale Regional Medical Center and later to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. where he was pronounced dead the next day.

The following week, The then Sheriff Alex Villanueva announced that the death of the 4-year-old boy was being investigated. Villanueva said Noah lived with his parents and three of his brothers, who had been taken into protective custody.
The child’s great-grandmother subsequently filed a wrongful death lawsuit against Los Angeles County on behalf of herself, Noah’s sister and two brothers, alleging that sHis death occurred after multiple reports of abuse were filed to the Department of Children and Family Services.
