At least 30 killed in an explosion near a girls' school in Afghanistan

At least 30 people were killed and dozens injured – most of them minors – after an explosion near a girls’ high school in Kabul , the capital of Afghanistan.

The explosion occurred when a group of students left the institute this Saturday, authorities of the Asian country reported.

According to BBC correspondents, several images broadcast on social media show school bags abandoned on the streets of the Afghan capital.

Most of the people who were injured were girls, according to a spokeswoman for the Ministry of Education.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.

Dasht-e-Barchi, a neighborhood in western Kabul where many Shiite Hazaras live, has often been White of attacks perpetrated by Sunni Islamist militants.

Almost exactly one year, the maternity unit of a local hospital was attacked, leaving more than 20 dead women, babies and children.
