The former footballer Dani Alves appeared this morning for the first time in the Barcelona Court after he was provisionally released on Monday after having posted the bail of one million euros imposed as bail.

Alves arrived this Thursday morning at the Barcelona Palace of Justice, accompanied by his lawyer, Inés Guardiola, to appear before section 21a of the Provincial Court, a building in which he has been for around ten minutes.

The Brazilian has been sentenced in the first instance to four years and six months of prison for raping a young woman in the toilets of the Sutton nightclub in Barcelona on December 30, 2022, and has spent a total of 14 months in jail.

Finally, Alves left the Brians 2 prison, in Sant Esteve Sesrovires (Barcelona), last Monday afternoon, after having been able to record that same day in the morning the million euros imposed by the Barcelona Court in order to be released.

What precautionary measures has Dani Alves been imposed on bail?

Among the precautionary measures imposed, the withdrawal of the two passports – Brazilian and Spanish – and the prohibition of leaving the country stand out. and the obligation to appear every Friday before the secretary of section 21a, or the last previous working day in case it is a holiday, as happened this Thursday.

In any moment, Neither the former FC Barcelona footballer nor his lawyer have made any type of statement to the media that awaited him.

During Alves’ brief appearance in court, a person approached the area where the press was and scolded the footballer. with cries of “rapist”, and has also reproached him for being able to get out of jail in exchange for a million euros, among other insults.

For its part, the Barcelona Provincial Prosecutor’s Office presented an appeal against the decision to release Alves on bail – something that the victim’s lawyer also announced would do -, considering that the current risk of escape is “even major” now in the face of the existence of a conviction.
