This piece was the idea of her children, according to an interview that Shakira gave before the release of the album, now the children are asking for their share of the royalty to buy a car when they are older, the artist said on ‘The Tonight Show’ with Jimmy Fallon.
“Everyone has their ‘little pig’ and they are saving because they want to buy a car when they grow up, because I told them: ‘I’m not going to buy you a car, or a telephone, or anything else.’ If you want it, you’re going to have to earn it,’” were part of the Colombian’s words.
The host, Jimmy Fallon, thought it was a joke, but Shakira reiterated what she said before. In fact, she confessed, “They’re like, ‘Mom, when are the royalties coming in?’ Because we need to save more money for the car.’”
‘Women No Longer Cry’
‘Las Mujeres Ya No Lloran’ is Shakira’s new album with songs that she released between 2022 and 2024.
The artist stated on her Instagram account that she would return “stronger” and after the release of her album, on March 22, she offered a free concert at Time Square in New York.
40,000 people attended the concert and the artist made a special call to the Latin community.
The artist released seven unreleased songs and explores different genres: from afrobeat to ballads with her piece ‘La Última’.
Shakira’s album is a journey through the woman she was before her breakup and the woman she is now. She faces her reality and decides to move forward despite everything, this is how she describes it in her song ‘How Where and When’.
When talking to his fans in Time Square, he confessed that this was one of his favorite pieces from the new album and he used his silver-shiny guitar to perform it.
