People with disabilities will be able to collect $943, $1,415 or $3,822 in the coming days

People with disabilities enrolled in the Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) program will, like retirees, receive payments of up to $3,822 in the coming days, although an estimate of the amount is established, the exact amounts depend on several factors.

According to the Social Security Administration’s payment schedule, checks for SSDI beneficiaries are sent in three rounds. To obtain them, recipients must meet some requirements such as: have applied for and been approved for disability benefits after April 30, 1997.

SSDI payment dates

The first round of this payment was already sent last Wednesday, May 8, and corresponded to beneficiaries born between the 1st and 10th of any month. The second round is for this May 15 and corresponds to beneficiaries born between the 11th and 20th of any month.

The third round of payments will be made on May 22 and will be received by beneficiaries born between the 21st and 31st of any month.

How much is the amount distributed by SSDI?

To obtain the maximum amount of $3,822 from SSDI, applicants to the program in their application must meet four requirements: having worked for a minimum of 35 years, have worked in jobs covered by Social Security; have accumulated the maximum taxable amount or contribution and benefit base and finally present late retirement.

Average SSDI amounts are $1,507 dollars per month. Spouses as dependents of SSDI beneficiaries can receive checks of up to $490 per month.

Can you lose your SSDI benefit?

This is a benefit that can be suspended if the recipient does not comply with the rules of the program, to be a beneficiary you must have a disability, Payments will last for the duration of the disability.

In this sense, if the beneficiary’s condition improves, the payments will be lost, otherwise they will be extended. In addition, the recipient may have payments suspended if the health information provided is false and does not have medical endorsementif you have additional income or if the disability can be overcome with rehabilitation.
