Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) food stamp benefits are sent each month to all 50 states in the United States, providing income to low-income families so they can purchase basic foods with their EBT cards.

Each state has the autonomy to establish what day these benefits are sent and even in some entities the amounts are adjusted depending on the level of inflation. According to the schedule, the distribution of payments has already begun this month.

Previously, it was managed by food stamps now With the implementation of EBT cards from the Department of Agriculture (USDA), each state has a systemTherefore, when the beneficiary moves from one entity to another, they must meet some requirements to continue receiving the benefit.

First of all, it is important to highlight that when you move, the card provided by the previous state will no longer be valid, In this case, the first thing to do is cancel the benefitand then apply for it in the new place of residence.

All documentation must be presented such as: identification, income of the applicant individual or family, Social Security Number, information on household members, among others, in addition to a letter of cancellation of the benefit in the previous state.

Having all these documents, you can proceed to request the benefit again either through an online form or in person at the SNAP offices. Once the application is approved, the recipient will receive a new EBT card at their new address.

The general amount in most states is $291 for an individual, $766 for a family of three; $1,751 dollars for a household of eight people. However, in Alaska, Guam, the United States Virgin Islands and Hawaii amounts can reach $3,166 dollars monthly.
