Kanye West sued by his former security guard for discrimination

Kanye West faces new discrimination accusations. Recently, a former security guard of the rapper, who changed his name to Ye, filed a discrimination lawsuit against him.

In accordance with People, Benjamin Deshon Provo, Kanye’s former security guard, accused the rapper of yelling at and subjecting black employees to less favorable treatment.

In 2021, Provo began working as the rapper’s security guard at his private school Donda Academy and in a warehouse where he kept Yeezy brand clothing.

The rapper’s former security guard alleged that he was asked to put himself and the paparazzi “in danger” by taking their cameras.. Likewise, Kanye demanded that people associated with his Donda academy get rid of books related to Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X and other prominent figures in the black community.

Provo also assured that The rapper treated African-American employees differently and even paid them less than others..

In accordance with People, Provo seeks damages for alleged discriminationretaliation, hostile work environment, labor code violations and attorney fees, as well as a “preliminary and permanent injunction, and a public injunction, against all defendants, prohibiting them from owning and operating any type of educational school for children minors under 18 years of age in the state of California.”

The rapper faces another lawsuit for racial discrimination and harassment by a former employee of Donda Academy and the Yeezy company.

The first week of April, Trevor Phillips filed a lawsuit in Los Angeles Superior Court against the rapper for racial discrimination, harassment and retaliation. He demands compensation of $35,000 in damages.

On the demand, Kanye’s former employee claims he was humiliated by the artist at the academy, in front of the students and their parents. Additionally, he notes that the rapper made anti-Semitic comments and comments against the LGBTQ+ community.

Trevor also claimed that the rapper treated white employees better than African-Americans.
