The semifinal series of the Concacaf Champions Cup between Salomón Rondón’s Pachuca and the Águilas del América was left open after the draw (1-1) on Tuesday at the Azteca Stadium. However, the Venezuelan forward was satisfied with the game shown by the Tuzos.

One of the three scorers of the 2024 Clausura Tournament of the MX League highlighted the level of Pachuca, which will now close the Concachampions tie at home next Tuesday, aiming to win the title, one of the objectives it has in mind Salomon Rondon.

“I put a final in my head, Pachuca against Columbus Crew, but it is something very personal. They are decisive phases. “We already played against América at our home and we won and now we played a very good game”highlighted the Venezuelan player who was on the court for 90 minutes on Tuesday.

“It’s about us”Rondón said about the possibilities of reaching the final of the tournament and added: “Obviously I reiterate all the respect we have for America as an institution and what it represents, but we don’t have five Concachampions by chance”.

Beyond the performance in the match against the Águilas del América, Salomón Rondón also spoke about what the experience has been like since his arrival to soccer in Mexico where he has been reunited with his best version after an irregular time at River Plate from Argentina.

“Mexican soccer has enough infrastructure and potential to be one of the best leagues on the continent. Visiting stadiums like Santos surprised me, Necaxa, Cruz Azul, they have surprised me for the better”added the Venezuelan forward in an interview for Fox Sports México.

“It is the first time in my career that I am in a first division league and there is no promotion and relegation, it gives you a different connotation because there are already teams that at this point have nothing at stake but that if they continued losing in a promotion league and relegation they would lose the category and that would be tragic”said.

Salomón Rondón also highlighted his adaptation to the Tuzos where he quickly became in tune with the rest of his teammates, which has meant that the Venezuelan may have had good performances, including the two hat-tricks scored in the Concachampions.

“As a foreigner, arriving in a country to work must be on paper, having to give my best and represent my country in the best way. My arrival in Pachuca went off on the right foot, it is very gratifying for me, at 34 years old, to do the things that I have been doing after my years in Europe”he pointed out.
