The Mexican actor and comedian continues to accumulate successes and will now join Damián Alcánzar for a project on Apple TV + that will be spoken in English and Spanish

Eugenio Derbez has become a strong representation of Latinos in the United States, not only as an actor, but also as a producer of big projects. Now he will join another great Mexican for a new comedy series .
The Mexican comedian from 59 years will team with Damián Alcázar , from 68, for a project spoken in English and Spanish alongside a diverse cast including Canadian Raphael Alejandro and the American Richard Shepard at address. The name of the series is Acapulco and will be available through Apple TV +.
The series will be the first on Apple TV + in Spanish and is inspired by the film How to be a Latin lover who starred in Derbez in the 2017. It will be set in the year 1200 and the comedian will once again give life to “Máximo”, who fulfills his dream of working in the most popular resort in Acapulco. The number of episodes is still unknown but it is known that will last half an hour .
In his role, Derbez will narrate the story from the present time, while the young actor Enrique Arrizon will become the young version of Maximum.
Damián and Derbez will join Raphael Alejandro and Camila Pérez , the former participated in the film that inspired the series, while the latter is known for her appearance in Gotham .
Production is being handled by Lionsgate Television, 3Pas Studios and The Tannenbaum Company, with Derbez serving as executive producer. The release date is unknown so far.
In an interview that Derbez gave a few days ago in the middle South Acapulco , assured that he is very excited about pay tribute to this tourist destination because since childhood he felt a great affection for the place and reminds him of the good times he spent with his parents in his childhood.
The filming of the pilot episode is expected to start soon in Mexico , however some scenes for security reasons will have to be recreated in studios in the United States, according to the information he gave the actor in the same interview.
