A Miami school warned that they will not employ people who get vaccinated against COVID-19

Miami school said there is misinformation about COVID vaccines – 19 and employees and teachers who receive vaccines will not be fired, but will not be work with students

A Miami private school has told teachers and employees not to get vaccinated against COVID – 19, citing false information and unsubstantiated anti-vaccination theories.

The school informed its employees that it is its policy not to employ anyone who has received what it called the “experimental” injection of COVID – 19, reported CBS News.

CBS Miami obtained a copy of an email sent to parents from Centner Academy on Monday. The school said that until further notice, it is asking any employee who has not yet received COVID vaccines – that you wait to do so until the end of the school year.

“We also recommend that all faculty and staff defer the injection until more research is available on whether this experimental drug is affecting unvaccinated people. ” is read in the email. “It is our policy, as far as possible, not to employ anyone who received the experimental COVID injection – 19 until more information is known. ”

The Centner Academy email does not offer scientific evidence or authority to support the claims made. school, run by Leila and David Centner, opened in September of 2020, according to CBS Miami.

The email sent to the parents of the students gained everyone’s attention the country on Monday, prompting United Teachers of Dade to release a statement.

“As seen with shame by the actions of the illegally run and uncertified Centner Academy, these schools not only teach disinformation and sell propaganda, but they punish teachers who try to protect themselves and their families ”, reads the United Teachers of Dade statement obtained by CBS Miami. “We are appalled at the unsafe conditions and labor violations that colleagues in schools like this have to endure due to the lack of union representation and contractual rights. ”

Health experts criticize this decision

The school’s position on the COVID vaccine was also criticized by health experts.

“It is really dangerous when an institution that is supposed to educate is spreading false rumors”, said the Dr. Aileen Marty, specialist in infectious diseases from Florida International University, reported ABC 7 News, from Miami.

Centner Academy spokesperson told 7News that teachers and employees who choose to receive the vaccine will remain on the payroll. They will not be fired, but they will not be allowed to work with students.
