The instant messaging application WhatsApp has started offer the option of listening to voice messages at different speeds for Android Beta users of the application .
To find out if you have access to this function, users of Android Beta of WhatsApp must enter and play a voice message.
If the function is enabled for them you will be able to see a symbol of playback speed: 1x, 1.5x or 2x .
With this option users can listen to their messages at a standard 1x speed. The operation is very simple, when you enter the message the avatar will change to a 1x symbol, which means that the audio is playing at normal speed .
Yes you want to listen to your file a little faster just press the button that shows the speed at 1.5x again and then you will hear 51% faster than normal .
If you select 2x you will hear your message in half the usual time because it will play twice as fast, saving you time on longer audible messages.
WhatsApp will remember the speed at which you put the last audio to leave it fixed , so that the rest of the audible messages will be heard with your last selection, until you change it to the speed you prefer .
This feature is coming in bit by bit and is expected to roll out for non-Android Beta users soon. IOS users will also receive it soon.
To access this feature no update is required from you or change anything in the settings , you just have to wait for it to arrive and its handling is very transparent.
Another new feature is that in a future update of the application for iOS and Android, the users will have the possibility to migrate the chat history .
