Instead of fines, Southern California police give gift cards

Officers from a Southern California police department They have been handing out gift cards instead of issuing tickets when they pull over some motorists this holiday season.

He Fullerton Police Department, Orange Countyhas surprised drivers by handing them Starbucks gift cards when they are pulled over and talking to motorists about road safety.

“It’s not every day you get stopped by the police and you end up with a coffee gift card instead of a fine!“, the Fullerton Police Department posted on its Instagram account.

The corporation said it recently received a donation of 150 Starbucks coffee chain gift cards of $10 each by the Fullerton Community Foundation and Police.

“The purpose was spread some joy this holiday season and brighten someone’s day,” Fullerton police added in their post.
