Megan Thee Stallion has requested a restraining order against Tory Lanez, alleging that, even while behind bars, he continues to exert psychological pressure on her through social networks and third parties.

As reported by People, the rapper filed this petition before the Los Angeles Superior Court last Tuesday, pointing to an ongoing pattern of harassment that, according to court documents, has persisted since Lanez began his sentence.

Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is serving a 10-year sentence for shooting Megan Thee Stallion in the feet in 2020. However, the singer, whose real name is Megan Pete, claims that the harassment has not stopped. According to the court file, Lanez would have used calls from prison to coordinate actions with third parties, including the participation of figures on social networks, to discredit and re-victimize her.

One of the key points of the petition highlights the alleged relationship between Lanez and Milagro blogger Elizabeth Cooper, whom Megan has also sued in a separate case. Cooper, according to the documents, has spread false information about the incident, publicly questioning the validity of evidence related to the case, such as the existence of bullet fragments. In one post, he even went so far as to call Megan “a professional victim,” which sparked even more controversy.

Megan too presented new evidence including recordings of phone calls in which Lanez and his father mention possible payments to Cooper to facilitate online harassment. These conversations, according to the singer’s lawyers, confirm an active conspiracy to attack her credibility.

Despite the conviction and previous contact ban, Megan argues that these actions demonstrate loopholes in the criminal justice system, allowing harassment to continue. A hearing on the restraining order is scheduled for January, while Lanez has appealed his sentence.

The case has reignited debates about gender-based violence, support for black women and the role of social media in perpetuating hate and misinformation. Megan, who has reached the top of the music industry with hits like “Savage” and “WAP,” seeks with this action to protect her well-being and set a precedent in the fight against abuse.
