Gregg Popovich recovers from stroke and is excited to coach the Spurs again

“While I wish I could return to each of you, for now, let me say that My family and I are eternally grateful.“Popovich said in a statement distributed by the Spurs.

Popovich, 75, suffered the stroke on November 2 before a game against the Minnesota Timberwolves and two days later it was learned that He left the bench for an indefinite period due to health problems.

In his absence, Mitch Johnson has assumed interim command of the Spurs.

Considered one of the best coaches in basketball history, Popovich is synonymous with success, perseverance and loyalty to the Spurs, which he has led uninterruptedly since the 1996-1997 season.
