Pato O'Ward will be with McLaren this weekend in Abu Dhabi

The closing of the 2024 Formula 1 season will bring a new opportunity to the Mexican Duck O’Ward to test with McLaren this weekend of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where he will be participating in the young driver tests.

This season has been good for Pato O’Ward who not only served as an IndyCar driver but also served as reserve driver for the British team that leads the constructors’ classification in F1.

“We are pleased to announce that our reserve driver, Ryo Hirakawa, will participate in FP1 in Abu Dhabi and Patricio O’Ward will drive in the young drivers test”the McLaren team announced in a statement.

Back in F1 after the Mexican GP

For Duck O’Ward It will not be the first time that he will be accompanying the McLaren team during this weekend at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix where the British team could put a perfect close to the 2024 Formula 1 season by becoming constructors’ champion.

The Mexican driver already had the opportunity to be with the team and participate in the first free practices of the last Mexican Grand Prix in what was a nice experience for the driver who was aboard British Lando Norris’ car with which he achieved the thirteenth best time.

In total he completed 21 laps around the Autódromo Hermanos Rodríguez circuit in the Aztec capital, leaving good feelings in the team that now gives him a new opportunity to now participate in the young drivers’ tests at the close of the 2024 F1 season.
