Following the conclusion of the 120th edition of the historic rivalry, some Michigan players carried a flag of their university and tried to stick it right at midfield, over the Ohio State logo. This unsportsmanlike act provoked a reaction from Buckeyes players, who tried to prevent it. The confrontation began to escalate with dozens of people involved.

As the players began to calm down, a Michigan player who had the huge flag in his hands began to jog provocatively near Ohio State players, who They snatched the blue flag with the letter M. This caused a second round of beatings between players.
This is not the first time a rival player has attempted to plant his school’s flag on Ohio State’s field. Baker Mayfield, current NFL star quarterback with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, did it when he was part of the University of Oklahoma after a victory in 2017.
The college football season concludes on this day. Conference championship games will take place next week and two weeks later the playoffs will begin under their new extended format.
