John Fetterman, Democratic senator from Pennsylvania, invited his party colleagues to assimilate his defeat in the presidential elections and prepare to endure his inability to stop some policies and initiatives that Donald Trump will surely implement upon assuming control of the White House.

During an interview with the newspaper The New York Timesthe Democrat who is known for attending the Senate in shorts and a sweatshirt, He recommended to the senior leadership of his party to remain calm, because for at least the next two years their hands will be tied to influence the destiny of the country.since without influence in the presidency they will also be a minority in the House of Representatives and the Senate.

“Democrats can’t stop losing our minds every 15 minutes. We really have to control ourselves. If you get scared of everything, you lose any kind of relevance.

It must be taken into account that this is how the elections are carried out. At least for the next two years, they will have the opportunity to write the narrative and drive it forward.“, he expressed.

Faced with conservative dominance, Fetterman suggests his party co-religionists avoid exaggerated resistance to the incoming government, otherwise the entire nation will be tense.

“I’m just saying buckle up and pack lunch, because it’s going to be four years of this. And if they have the option to freak out, you know, on the hour, then that’s their right, but I’m not going to do it. I’m not that guy, nor am I that Democrat. I’m going to choose my fights,” he emphasized.

Unlike other Democrats, John Fetterman He warned his colleagues in advance that, in Pennsylvania, his home state, Kamala Harris’ campaign was distant from the citizensso they could lose the election there, but they paid no attention to it, so he once again insists that now all that remains is to close ranks in a professional manner.

“Does clutching your pearls so much change anything? Did it work? Did it change the elections? Was it productive? Seriously, I can’t believe the outrage. That has to be sweet for Trump,” he stressed.
