The Eagles of Americawith a great tactical approach designed by Brazilian coach André Jardine, controlled the favorite from start to finish Toluca to strike the first blow: 2-0 with an outstanding performance by Uruguayan Rodrigo Aguirre, who finished the night with two important goals.

A victory where America apparently stood cautiously with a 5-3-2 approach, where the Scarlets could never decipher the way in which the Águilas surrounded them, where they had the way to nullify the dangerous men of Toluca and at the same time have the way to deploy with great speed on the wings supported by the work of Brian Rodríguez and by Alejandro Zendejas.

Unlike the match on date 17 in which Toluca overcame América with a resounding 4-0 with a fast style, now the initiative was that of the current two-time champion, who with his way of playing did not allow the absence of two great figures like the Chilean Diego Valdés and captain Henry Martín to be missed.

In this way América will go to Toluca on Saturday with a two-goal advantage that forces the Red Devils to overcome this heavy disadvantage and where by obligation they have to score those two goals to advance due to the situation in the table, but America arrives with the advantage of being able to manage the match as it pleases.

The match at the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium

The Águilas del América were so methodical and cold in their tactical scheme that made Toluca look ineffective, because although it seemed that in the first instance they gave up the entire initiative to Toluca by leaning back, the reality is that it was just a deception, because when they recovered the ball they always put the visitors against the wall.

Thus, America missed at least three clear goal-scoring plays in the first half. from Rodrigo Aguirre, Alejandro Zendejas and Brian Rodríguez, who if it weren’t for the great efforts of the Brazilian goalkeeper Tiago Volpi, the world would have fallen on them from the first 45 minutes.

To make matters worse, when the Red Devils went to the front in search of reacting, The American goalkeeper Luis Malagón took the potatoes out of the oven with a great shot that took away a goal scored by Marcel Ruiz to reach the end of the first half with a tie with the flavor of victory for the Americanists.

America with champion paste

For the second half, América showed its champion’s past, with the authority that allows it to have a team with vast experience for this type of encounters, with which Toluca was left completely disordered and at the mercy of the Americanist attacks.

The incredible thing is that Toluca was never able to adjust its lines and América went to the boarding with two goals from Rodrigo Aguirre at the 66th and 81st minutes, but leaving it clear that at least he could have scored two more goals that would have been the end for the Red Devils who were never able to light their inferno in the Ciudad de los Deportes stadium.
