Authorities reported that The search for a missing hiker with her two dogs in Oregon’s Salmon-Huckleberry Wilderness was called off Tuesday night. after four days.
However, authorities said that They continue to gather information and establish a timeline that led to the disappearance of 61-year-old Susan Lane-Fournier.and said it remains an active missing person investigation.
“Based on weather conditions and likelihood of survival, the decision was made to suspend operations after the four volunteer search teams returned from the field,” the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.
“From Saturday through Tuesday, dozens of search volunteers, drone teams and K9 dogs that track and detect aerial scents spent more than 800 hours searching for Ms. Lane-Fournier,” the department said.
Investigators are now seeking to speak to anyone who may have seen Lane-Fournier or have information about her whereabouts in the week leading up to her disappearance.
Lane-Fournier was believed to be walking with her two large Malinois mix dogs. He was thought to be in the area of the Welches Green Canyon Way trail in Oregon, according to the sheriff’s department.
Lane-Fournier was reported missing after failing to show up for work.
Officers did not find Lane-Fournier at her residence after her employer reported her missing. A community member saw his white 1992 Ford F-250 parked along a road near the trail a day later.
Lane-Fournier, also known by the name Phoenix, is 1.57 meters tall, weighs 70 kilos and has reddish brown hair.
