Ricardo Arjona is back to music, after taking a break due to health problems, the artist announced the release of his new album ‘Seco’ and published three unreleased songs: ‘Despacio que hay has Rush’, ‘Todo Termina’ and ‘ Nirvana’.
According to Arjona, of Guatemalan origin, these three songs represent a personal journey and evoke his roots.
“I went inside when I wrote this project, I celebrated life and I cried”Arjona explained about the project, according to the information in the press release.
“Everything is placed in it, the things of the heart, those of life and those of time. The smiles in the photos are real, they are of joy and celebration. There are nightmares that give rise to wonder. The rest is chance.”
What’s behind ‘Seco’?
Arjona’s new musical material explores complex topics such as the health situation he went through. For the artist, Music has always been a tool to face adversity and with this album he is proving it.
The ‘Me Enseñaste’ singer stated that he lived through a period of uncertainty and reconnected with his origins and His childhood nickname was “Seco”, inspired by his tall and thin figure.
In this way, the singer took his guitar and created 12 new songs that, according to his statements, could be the most important album of his life.
Through his social networks, he expressed: “I started this journey in a wheelchair and in hospital rooms during the first monthsand I ended up walking, almost running.”
He added that “I went inside when I wrote this project, I celebrated life and I cried. Everything is put on the album: things of the heart, things of life and things of time.”
According to the promotional image of the songs, everything evokes nostalgia and emotion. The images use sepia color, which gives an impression of being in the past.
Why did Ricardo Arjona retire?
Ricardo Arjona retired from the stage due to a degenerative disease. The artist did not delve into its origins, but decided to retire from the stage.
At that time, he said the disease was affecting his spine and this prevented him from standing.
In a statement, he added that he underwent several infiltrations in his spine and that he subsequently had to undergo painful surgery.
Regarding his new album, Arjona indicated that it will be released at the beginning of 2025.
