“It hurt me a lot not to have been able to go to the Copa América 2024. “I spoke a little with Jaime (Lozano), but it was a short talk in which he told me some things and now, I just accepted it”pointed out what the conversation was with the national coach, making it clear that although there was no bad communication, the reasons for his absence were not clear either.
But beyond the bitter pill that being left out of the 2024 Copa América meant for “Chucky” Lozano, the experienced forward who will be joining San Diego FC of the MLS starting in December, is confident that he can have redemption with the National Team. Mexico.
“I hope that at some point I can return to the national team, for me it would be fabulous but we are going step by step. “I was injured for a while but I hope I have the opportunity to return to the national team.”acknowledged the player who has been out of action since last September.
The 29-year-old forward, who suffered a muscle injury during a friendly match with PSV Eindhoven, pointed out that he has also had the opportunity to talk with the new Mexican coach Javier Aguirre of whom he has a very high opinion both professionally and personally.
“He is a great person, he is a great coach. I respect him a lot, for his career and for the person he is. He is a gentleman. Thank God we have had the opportunity to talk and they have been very positive talks”he pointed out, referring to his dealings with “Vasco” Aguirre.
At the moment Hirving “Chucky” Lozano is focused on finishing returning to action with PSV Eindhoven and resuming what had been his great start to the season so that in 2025 he can make his long-awaited return to the Mexican National Team.
