FIFA President reacts to the attack on Javier Aguirre in Honduras

The president of FIFA, Gianni Infantinoreacted after the incident he experienced Javier Aguirre in one of the most scandalous chapters of this date FIFAwhen at the end of the meeting that Mexico lost 2-0 in Honduras, a projectile hit the coach’s head of the Aztec team and blood began to flow down his face.

The top leader of FIFA, through an official statement, called for a strong hand against the violent and regretted an incident that went around the world with the image of a bloody Aguirre.

“I was shocked and sad to see the horrible incident in which an object hit the Mexico coachJavier Aguirre, at the end of his match against Honduras,” he expressed through a statement he published on his social networks.

The boss of world football launched a message of peace and stressed that these attitudes do not represent this sport.

“There is no place for violence in football, neither on nor off the field of play. These types of incidents have no place in our sport or our society.“he stated.

The FIFA president added: “Without exception, in football, all players, coaches, referees and fans must have the necessary security to enjoy our sport. “I call on the relevant authorities to ensure that this is respected at all levels,” he added.

Javier Aguirre was attacked after the final whistle of the clash between Honduras and Mexico at the Francisco Morazán Stadium in San Pedro Sula.

The result of the match put Mexico on the ropes and forces the team to beat the Catrachos in Toluca by three goals, in the game that will take place on Tuesday, November 19 at the Nemesio Diez.

If Mexico fails to meet its goal, Honduras will advance to the semifinals of the Nations League and qualify directly for the 2025 Gold Cup, while the tricolor team will be left empty-handed.
