The elected president donald trump He came out to a standing ovation just before the start of the UFC pay-per-view card at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, combining two things he loves: the fierce fights inside the octagon and New York City.

Trump was accompanied by the president of the UFC, Dana White and they both headed to their seats next to the cage to listen to “American Bad Ass” by Kid Rock.

Elon Muskchosen by Trump to lead a new Department of Government Efficiency, and the speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson joined the president-elect and White at the Garden, as did Robert Kennedy Jr.Trump’s pick to lead the Department of Health and Human Services in his incoming administration.

Returning to Madison Square Garden meant revisiting the place where a comedian caused a stir at a Trump rally last month by comparing Puerto Rico to a “floating island of garbage.”

The UFC aired video of Trump’s path to retaking the White House, which it called “the great comeback in American history,” as fans stood and applauded. Trump, wearing a red tie, shook his fist at the crowd as the video ended.

The president-elect also had his fists clenched moving back and forth and briefly danced to the Village People’s “YMCA” just outside the cage. Later, he raised his fist to the sky again while “Takin’ Care of Business” played.

Trump is a long-time UFC enthusiast and frequently attends the most important fights.

Except for a daylong trip to Washington this week to meet for nearly two hours with President Biden and separately address House Republicans, Trump has been spending his time since his Election Day victory in Mar-a-Lago.
