The actor Lucas Bravo, known for playing Gabriel, the attractive chef in the hit Netflix series ‘Emily in Paris’, generated controversy and upset the cast after expressing his discontent about the direction his character and his role in the production took.

In a recent interview with Le Figaro, Bravo confessed thatthat the series does not “stimulate” him and that he is considering leaving the productionwhich surprised both his co-stars and the show’s followers.

According to sources close to the set, according to what Page Six collected, Bravo’s comments caused discomfort among his co-stars.

An anonymous source told Us Weekly that, if they decide to return for season five, Bravo’s presence could generate “a lot of tension” between the cast. The same source assured that ‘Emily in Paris’ will continue regardless of the actor’s decision, stressing that “the show is ‘Emily in Paris’, not ‘Gabriel in Paris’.”

A character in decline?

The 36-year-old actor, who since the first season has been one of the most popular faces of the series, did not hide his frustration with Gabriel’s development.

In the same interview with Le Figaro, Bravo regretted that his character “has moved away” from the initial version, who he described as the “sexy chef,” and criticized the scriptwriters’ decisions that, in his opinion, transformed him into a melancholic figure and unattractive.

“I have never been so far from him.”he stated, referring to his character who, according to him, has gone from being charming and playful to someone sad and lost.

Bravo also expressed disappointment with the lack of freedom on set, revealing that the actors do not have much ability to bring changes to their characters. “We cannot change a word or an emotion,” he said.

Additionally, he commented that the showrunners seem afraid to take risks with the plot, due to the viral success that the series has had, which generated a feeling of creative stagnation.

I might not come back

The actor, who signed a contract for the first four seasons, left open the possibility of not returning for the next one.

With these statements he surprised many, Bravo mentioned that he was not sure he wanted to continue in the fifth season if his character continued in the same line. “It makes me question if I want to be part of season 5,” he admitted, suggesting that he would only return if Gabriel regained his original essence.
