Ukraine launches largest drone attack on Moscow since start of war

Russia shot down this Sunday (10.11.2024) 34 Ukrainian drones headed to Moscowindicated the Ministry of Defense, in the largest attack against the Russian capital since the start of the conflict in 2022.

The attack forced the temporary closure of three airports, injured a 52-year-old woman and caused two homes to burn down in the town of Ramenskoye, according to authorities.

While the Ukrainian capital kyiv is a regular target of massive Russian drone and missile attacks, attacks on Moscow are much less frequent.

The Ministry of Defense stated that Russian air defense had shot down a total of 70 Ukrainian drones in six regionsincluding all 34 in the Moscow area. The governor of the capital region Andrei Vorobyov declared this Sunday that the drone attack had been “massive.”

The Russian Defense Ministry had previously stated that it had shot down a total of 23 Ukrainian drones over the Bryansk, Rostov, Belgorod and Kursk regions, all of which border Ukraine and where drone attacks are most frequent.

Ukraine says its attacks, which often target energy facilities, They are a response to Russian bombings on their territory since the start of the Russian invasion in February 2022.
