‘+57’, by Karol G, along with other Colombian artists, seemed like a guaranteed success due to the group it represented, in addition to the rhythm. However, he is receiving harsh criticism for “sexualizing girls.” Especially for the fragment that says “A little mom since she was fourteen”that is, from the age of 14.

The famous Rolling Stone magazine spoke about the piece of music, expressing its rejection. In addition, dozens of comments on social networks joined this lament. This rejection could mean that the piece does not appear in future awards and its popularity stagnates..

The magazine’s critic, Martín Toro, specifies that there is a particular phrase that makes the song lose all its meaning:

“A little mom since she was fourteen, enters the club and feels the kiMami, I’ll give these shots for you. That thing back there is huge, delicateTake it, hold on Mamacita from the fourteen Enter the club and you can feel the ki Mami, I’ll give these shots for you. There’s a lot of stuff on the bottom, there’s no room for your buttocks in the maki (haha),” says the song, which lasts a little more than five minutes.

From Toro’s point of view, it is a serious mention, because Medellín is known for its high rates of child prostitution and child trafficking.

“It is not right and instead of breaking with normalizationthis single perpetuates the sexualization of minors,” he indicated in his text.

On social networks, in particular, J Balvin was criticized. In a speech during the Billboard Awards, he assured that, since its founding, they have been fighting against child trafficking, despite it being a task considered dangerous.

Internet users expressed that they do not understand how he agreed with that song, when he stated that “Not with children”.

“No one noticed?”

The feminist media ‘Volcánicas’ criticized -strongly- the song. In a post on Instagram, they highlighted: “⚠️ The most important reggaeton artists in Colombia came together to make +57, a song that says “a mamacita since she was 14.” This, in a city like Medellín, with a serious problem of child sexual exploitation. Of 7 reggaeton stars with huge teams, no one noticed? 🤯”

In the publication, they state that, within the song, all the people who sing are adults and it seems unacceptable to them that they are talking about girls.

They indicate that sexualization is part of the problem and that should not be entertainment. At the moment, none of those involved in the song have commented on the matter.
