Hector Herrera It is one of the great banners of Mexican soccer in Major League Soccer. The Mexican midfielder was the captain of the Houston Dynamo. However, The club itself announced that it will no longer have the services of the Aztec.
One of the reasons why the club decided to take this measure may be related with his controversial expulsion in his last game of the season. Héctor Herrera spat at the head judge after he received a yellow card. Clearly this is not an action worthy of the captain of an institution.
But Héctor Herrera was also one of the highest paid players in the entire MLS and his projection was not the most outstanding due to his age. Houston Dynamo had the possibility of extending “HH”’s contract until 2025, but the club decided to leave the link until this year.
“To those who will not return, I sincerely thank them for their contributions to the club and wish them the best in the next step of their careers. Looking ahead to 2025, we will bring back the core of our team, and we are already working hard to build on our foundation in the upcoming transfer windows,” said Pat Onstad, general manager of the club.
Héctor Herrera is on a list with five more footballers who will not continue in the club. Despite the farewell of these players, the Houston Dynamo board recognizes the work and successes achieved by the team in recent seasons.
“I am proud of the resilience of the players and staff members this season. Despite facing significant obstacles, we qualified for back-to-back postseason appearances for the first time in more than a decade and set new club records for single-season points and road wins. as we advance further in the CONCACAF Champions Cup than any other team in the Western Conference”, concluded the leader.
