The company Southern California Edison (SCE) began widespread power outages to its customers since Wednesday morning after the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a red flag warning of particularly dangerous situation (PDS) for the Santa Ana winds.
SCE had already suspended the power supply at 7:00 am to approximately 13,800 customers in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino and Ventura countiesand it was expected that the outages could increase due to the forecast of intense winds throughout the day.
At 1:00 pm SCE increased the number of power outages and there were many more pending to carry them out.

Power outages for public safety reasons In Los Angeles County, 15,101 clients were affected, in Ventura, 23,420, in San Bernardino, 12,104 clients were affected, and in Riverside, 9,249 clients were affected.
In San Bernardino, two public schools were left without power service: Paakuma’ K-8 School and Kimbark Elementary School. Both schools reported on their social media that they would remain open during the power outages.
Previously, Southern California Edison said more than 55,000 customers could experience power outages while outages for 1,113 customers had already been scheduled for 10:00 pm on Tuesday, November 5. At that time, 2,230 customers had already lost power.

He Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) He also announced possible power outages. He said planned outages could be implemented and unexpected outages could occur due to downed power lines due to intense Santa Ana winds.
Although the most intense winds were expected during this Wednesday, the danger of fire and strong gusts will persist until this Thursday afternoon.
A PDS Red Flag Warning It is valid from 9:00 am this Wednesday until 9:00 am Thursday for the southern mountains of Ventura County and the San Gabriel, Santa Susana and Santa Monica mountains.
