Chiquis Rivera has once again spoken about a very personal and delicate topic: the possible release of her father, Trino Marín, who is imprisoned after being convicted of sexual abuse against her and other family members.
During a recent interview, Chiquis addressed the idea that Marín could be released from prison, an issue that has caused a stir among his followers and public opinion. His testimony reflects the complicated process of healing and forgiveness that he has experienced over the years.
“Whatever God wants”commented Chiquis when asked about the possibility of her father obtaining a reduced sentence. In his words a mixture of reflection and acceptance is perceived, indicating that, although the process has been difficult, he has managed to find peace.
“I feel that when I went to see him, he was a changed man. That’s how I felt it in my heart and God has the last word so I’m here waiting.”he added.
Chiquis has explained that forgiveness is a fundamental value that was instilled in her since she was little and that has been essential for her emotional well-being.
“I forgave him for a long time. It is something that has been taught to me since I was little and I know God’s forgiveness and for me forgiveness is very important.”he expressed.
Chiquis visited her father in prison recently, after several years away. As he revealed, it was a shocking moment in which he felt that he had changed, something that, he says, he could perceive in his heart. This meeting allowed him to free himself from emotions that, until then, he had carried inside. “When he asked me for forgiveness it was a very special moment, I freed myself, it was something that I didn’t think would change my life, but it changed it”he confessed.
In the interview, he was also asked about his aunt Rosie Rivera, who was another of Marín’s victims.
However, Chiquis chose not to go into details, limiting herself to saying that each person has their own healing path and that she does not wish to comment on her aunt’s situation. Although the topic is painful and complicated, Chiquis has made it clear that her forgiveness process does not imply a complete reconciliation with the past or unconditional acceptance.
Likewise, he emphasized that, although he has forgiven his father, that does not mean that he fully trusts him. In this sense, she revealed that, although she does not feel that Marín should be in prison in order to be at peace, she would not leave her own children in her care. “I wouldn’t trust my children with him. What if he will never touch a girl again? I don’t know. “God knows”he pointed out.
This testimony from Chiquis Rivera reflects her strength and personal growth. Through her words, she makes it clear that forgiveness is a personal and complex process, which is not based on forgetting, but on releasing and moving on.
