Max Verstappen rumors continue to move about a possible arrival of Franco Colapinto to Red Bull.
The Dutchman praised the performance of the young Williams driver and highlighted the attractiveness he represents for several teams, including Red Bull.
During the press conference at the São Paulo Grand Prix, Verstappen highlighted the work of Colapinto, the first Argentine to complete five races in F1, stating that it will depend on the team if they decide to integrate him into the squad in the future.
“My understanding is that it is very attractive for many teams to have him… It will depend on the team (Red Bull) to see what they want to do,” said the triple world champion.
The rumors have increased after a publication by Red Bull Argentina on social networks, which included emojis that hinted at expectations.
This publication fueled speculation about a potential replacement for Mexican Sergio “Checo” Pérez, who is currently Red Bull’s second driver.
With the close of the season approaching, the performance and constant comparisons between Pérez and Verstappen have led to analyzing how a change could impact the team.
Williams, for its part, has confirmed that they are evaluating options for Colapinto with other teams, although team director James Vowles did not detail which ones. Colapinto expressed that, if he did not find space in Williams, he would seek to be released to explore alternatives.
Verstappen’s statements and the support that Colapinto has received from his fans reinforce the idea that Red Bull could be exploring a renewal for the 2025 season.
Meanwhile, the Argentine continues to add points in his career, which could open the doors for him to compete for a position in a competitive team in F1 and compete in the highest category with one of the best teams in the world.
